Principal’s Welcome

As Principal of Scoil Aodh Rua agus Nuala, and on behalf of the Board of Management, staff, pupils, and parents, I am delighted to welcome you to our new school website.

We are a primary school with a Catholic ethos, serving the children of our local community and beyond. Our multicultural environment embraces all nationalities and religious beliefs, with a strong emphasis on catering to special educational needs.

We aim to create a safe, friendly, and welcoming school where our pupils learn to value themselves and their community while achieving their academic potential. At Scoil Aodh Rua agus Nuala, we ensure that every child is valued for their individual and unique talents. Our goal is to provide a holistic approach to education, nurturing these talents. To this end, our dedicated staff offers guidance and tuition in both the curriculum and various extracurricular activities such as music, GAA, swimming, and Quizzing.

Our staff works tirelessly in the daily operations of our school, ensuring that the years spent at Scoil Aodh Rua agus Nuala are enjoyable, productive, and memorable for our pupils.

We are very cognisant of the vital role you, the parents and guardians, play. We recognise you as the primary educators of your children, and without your support, our efforts would be in vain. Scoil Aodh Rua agus Nuala has always maintained an open-door policy with parents and guardians, embracing you as an integral part of our school team. We strive to keep the partnership among staff, parents, and management open, welcoming, and accessible to all. To facilitate this important communication, we use Aladdin Connect, an app that provides information about all school activities and allows for instant two-way communication between school and home. I am available and happy to meet with parents and guardians at a convenient time to discuss any aspect of school life.

The fact that many current parents and grandparents are past pupils of our school attests to the positive and amicable home/school relationship we have developed and maintained over the years, a relationship we are very proud of. We are equally proud to count some of our past pupils among the current staff and to have several staff members whose children are past and current pupils. These strong bonds between our school and our community are a partnership we hope to continue and strengthen as we move forward together.

We hope that developing this new school website will further strengthen our school community while also helping to enlighten and inform both current and future parents of Scoil Aodh Rua agus Nuala.
